You mentioned, Clay Christensen and ‘How Will You Measure Your Life?’ I've gone back and rewatched that a couple of times over the past couple of years. It is fantastic. It is also dated a little bit. Clay was a fantastic human being. - Brian Elliott
In that he talks about, something that I wish more executives honestly thought about, which is how will you measure your life at the end and how you measure your life through the impact that you have on the people around you? And that includes your family, that includes your kids, that includes your partners, that includes your coworkers. - Brian Elliott
That lens alone, as opposed to what's my title? What's my millions? How many people am I working with. That's what lasts and that's what persists. I wish more executives went back and watched that video by Clay - Brian Elliott
Innovator's Dilemma is my favorite business book.
There isn't a close 2nd.
'How Will You Measure Your Life' blew my mind.
By the lives you touched and impacted.
Clayton was very ill when he gave this TED Talk.
Well worth a listen. And the book's good too.
And who knew, Brian had a personal connection.
I would have loved to have interviewed him.
