Nick Bloom puts up a slide when you Google ‘remote work’. There were two categories of pictures. One is the lazy slob hanging out, not dressed, a stone's throw away from the fridge, and the TV. The other is people in beautiful tropical locations with their laptop on their lap, a nice fruity drink with an umbrella, and of course, the umbrella a Wi-Fi antenna. - Jeff Frick
It used to be extremely difficult to find a country that would accept you, if you weren't a citizen, or if you didn't have a real need to move there like work, marriage, or refugee status. Options were very limited and you were restricted to tourist type visas, maybe a student visa. But these days, they're trying to build features and attract you to their countries. On the flip side, it can never be understated how painful the, the processes are, because they're always a lot harder than they look. I'm a big advocate of hiring a professional to help you navigate this space. It's relatively inexpensive, and is super helpful, someone that knows the local ropes and can walk you through it. - Chase Warrington
Countries are competing for remote workers.
They're creating new visas, streamlining processes, and looking forward to hosting remote workers. In the over popular places, this sometimes causes friction. Get away from the over populated places, literally opens up a world of opportunities to change your environment.
Chase was prioritizing global, before global was cool.
