Think about the idea of temporary assignments, talent mobility, forming dynamic teams that can either be used as a seed team to grow a broader population or solve a specific problem - Meg

Pairing them up with a mentor, a team so that they have a chance to develop the skills, as we've (done) from the beginning of time, which is apprenticeships and working with masters, ... somehow, we just gave that up and said, "Oh, e-learning will fix it." - Meg Bear

Be strategic, create opportunities for people to develop with masters, and create dynamic growth opportunities. Invest in development, and keep them engaged and intrinsically motivated.
