Values Are Paramount

1

When you hire for values and you allow people to change the culture and you hire from a diverse background and you create psychological safety and an inclusive environment, you add what feels like a huge tax. - Dominic Price

If you hire people that are the same as you, you all agree, work happens really quickly. It's just so nice. You don't create anything innovative. Cause you’re the same person split into two. - Dominic Price

Sit me in a room with people that are different and solve a problem together, it's going to take us longer. We've got to build the safety, trust, rapport, empathy. But I'm really confident the idea we’ll land on will be infinitely better than eight of me in the room. - Dominic Price

It might be harder than rubber stamped solo decisions from the boss. But the probability of better decisions goes up with the diversity of inputs and experiences of the team making the decision.

No one likes more 'tax', but the over head is certainly taxing. Perhaps 'investment' is a more descriptive verb.

Big news in the Atlassian World.
Can't wait to see what the future holds.
Best on the next chapter my friend.
