If we bring in a few people into that group, people who can work together to demonstrate the efficacy and the value of it and start to nurture that relationship with somebody who's maybe more senior within the group, who can then start to see the value of that idea, see the utility of those new ideas or a way of working - Andreas Hoffbauer

Inertia is a powerful thing. 
Cultivate outside ideas and influence so it gets a chance to breathe and earn an honest look. Remember, bias toward action. Reinforcing risk-taking now might now mean immediate success, but sets you up for more experiments down the road.
