Companies growing headcount on average are probably doing better, winning in their industries - Rob Sadow

What's actually driving outcome differences for companies. - Rob Sadow

Headcount is never a perfect proxy for financial performance. But the companies that are hiring are typically the ones that have the financial position to be able to do so. They're growing revenue, they're growing earnings, and therefore they can afford to invest - Rob Sadow

And so it's not a leap to believe that the companies that are growing headcount then on average are probably doing better, winning in their industries. - Rob Sadow

Rob and team compared the Flex Index data with People Data Labs

They found that flexible companies (fully remote and/or hybrid) were adding head count at 2x the rate of full time in office counterparts.

While hiring in and of itself it not a perfect proxy for performance, it certainly is an important data point for corporate health.

I wonder how 2024 is tracking to 2023?
