I couldn't believe how unproductive the environment was - Evan Benway

They had to really compete for talent. And part of how they did that was they created a better workplace than anyone had ever seen.- Evan Benway

I came in on the innovation side of the business with a focus on sound and with my background as a musician and someone who thinks a lot about how I experience sound. I couldn't believe how unproductive the environment was. - Evan Benway

See, Hear, Smell, Feel, and Taste.
In design, we tend to over index on the visual, as seeing is arguably our most powerful sense.

Unfortunately, we tend to under index on sound, a sense developed in our evolutionary biology as part of our early warning system. So no surprise, poor soundscapes can be particularly harmful to productivity.

Jeff Larson, who works with Evan at Moodsonic, will be talking about Designing Workplace Experiences with sound in mind at Worktech San Francisco.

Really interesting field, and a great opportunity to improve productivity.
